Setting Up Microsoft Authenticator App

Overview

This guide explains how to install and configure the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device to securely access your DLC Microsoft account. Screenshots should be inserted at the indicated steps for clarity.

Steps to Install Microsoft Authenticator

1. Start Sign-In on Your Computer

   • Sign in to Teams (or another Microsoft app) on your computer using your DLC-issued Microsoft account.

   • You will be prompted for more information. Click Next until a QR code is displayed on your screen.

2. Install the Microsoft Authenticator App

   • Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) on your mobile device.

   • Search for Microsoft Authenticator.

   • Be sure to install the official app (see screenshots for correct app in Apple App Store and Google Play Store).

    

3. Allow Notifications

   • When prompted during installation, allow the app to send notifications. This is required for approving sign-ins.

Steps to Configure Microsoft Authenticator

1. Open the App

   • Launch the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device.

2. Add Account

   • Select Scan QR Code when prompted.

   

3. Scan the QR Code

   • Use your mobile device to scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen.

4. Approve Sign-In

   • On your computer, click Next to continue.

   • You will be given a number.

5. Verify in Authenticator App

   • In the app, you will see a prompt to enter the number shown on your computer.

   • Enter the number and tap Yes to confirm.

   

Completion

• After verification, your Microsoft Authenticator app is set up and linked to your DLC Microsoft account.

You can now approve sign-ins quickly and securely using your mobile device.
