Changing Your Passcode

Overview

This guide explains how to change the passcode on your iPhone 16e. Our organization requires strong passcodes, so simple or easily guessable codes are not allowed. If your device indicates that your passcode is too simple, you will need to choose a more secure passcode.

Steps to Change Your Passcode

  1. Open Settings

    • Tap the Settings app from your Home screen.

  2. Go to Face ID & Passcode

    • Scroll down and tap Face ID & Passcode.

    • Enter your current passcode when prompted.

  3. Change Passcode

    • Tap Change Passcode.

  4. Enter Old Passcode

    • Type your current passcode to proceed.

  5. Enter New Passcode

    • Enter your new passcode.

    • If your passcode is considered too simple, the phone will display a warning. You must choose a stronger passcode that meets policy requirements (e.g., not sequential numbers, not repeating digits, and at least six digits or alphanumeric).

  6. Confirm New Passcode

    • Enter the new passcode again to confirm.

  7. Complete

    • Your new passcode is now active. Use this passcode to unlock your device and authorize actions.

Tips for Creating a Strong Passcode

  • Avoid repeating digits (e.g., 111111) or sequential numbers (e.g., 123456).

  • Consider using an alphanumeric passcode for extra security.

  • Do not share your passcode with anyone.

  • Update your passcode regularly as recommended by IT policy.
